Root canal
Tooth decay can occur when the patient does not immediately visit his or her doctor, when the caries spreads so deeply that the infection reaches the tooth lining, which causes inflammation of the nerves and blood vessels. In this case, inflamed or dead tissues in the pulp chamber or root canals are removed, drains are cleaned, disinfected, and then filled. It's then hermetically sealed off from the outside environment, preventing superinfestation. If too much tooth material is missing from the root-treated tooth, we cover the tooth with a crown or inlay to prevent breakage. In order to ensure that the length of the root filling is neither too long nor too short, the length of the root canal is determined with perfect accuracy with the help of an Apex measuring instrument.
Root pin
If the crown of the tooth is broken (and intact tooth tissue over the gums remains), then the tooth can be rebuilt with the help of a tap. A crown is made for this, so that the remaining root can become a complete tooth again.
A well-entrenched root, a properly executed root filling, the remaining tooth material above the gums, or the absence of a lesion around the root tip are necessary in order to make the root pin. With a good aesthetic effect, the tap reinforced with glass fiber is similar in elasticity to that of a natural tooth, so it does not break the root (this can happen when using metal pins).
